    1. That's a 62. No way to tell if it's a 409.
      My first Impala was a 62 409, 2-4, 425
horse, 4-speed, bought from a good friend in 67' for 1,200 bucks.

  3. What looks "messican" about this? Except missing part of the trim (between the chrome strips) and a set of aftermarket fenderskirts, and possibly custom wheels,
    it looks perfectly stock.

  4. About five coats of black, and as many of clearcoat. And a metric ton of elbow grease for wax and polish.

  5. in '72 I bought a '62 Impala from this guy for $10. 6 cyl 3 on the tree. He had stripped all of the interior everywhere down to bare metal. It had a brand new Sears Diehard battery that I needed for my '64 Ford Econoline Supervan. Anyhoo, I switched the battery then I and a couple of friends took that car out into the woods and played demolition derby with it. Absolutely destroyed it! Left it in the woods with the front end wrapped around a tree. Most fun I ever had with a vehicle.
