    1. I like their flair and have owned 3 in the last 8 years. I liked them all and they were trouble free (new stuff should be though). I'd love a SM but out of my league.

  4. Way the wheels stick out, looks like its got electric motors on each spindle, hub drive. Probably planetary gears sets, with clutch packs that double as brakes too.
    Thats the way I'd do it anyways. Some large earth moving equipment use that system, works very well. Don't know if it scales down effectively though. Lot of moving parts, but its super compact along with some parts doing double duty. Lot of unsprung weight way out on a leverage arm. But automatic transmissions use planetary gear/clutch packs, and they are pretty compact and minimal weight. Always trade-offs.

    1. or just go direct drive motors, stepper type, digital control, high voltage low amp DC. Maybe reversible fields for braking.
