I've seen some monster cats caught out of the deep backwaters of the Mississippi in Minnesota. It actually scares you to know something that big lives there. Sturgeons and carp too.
Keep it alive then throw it in a stock tank full of clean water. In a few hours you won't be able to see anything in the tank as it cleans out the mud. Flush and repeat as needed. Jpaul
I used to run trot lines back in my yout. Pulling yourself down that line collecting cats and you feel that big tug on the line and see bubbles breaking the surface, you knew you had big boy on the line. Get the grease hot and make a beer run baby.
