And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Gut it, salt and pepper with half a lemon, wrap in foil and then grill over coals or open fire… I worked at a large cherry orchard with a huge stock tank of trout in eastern Oregon. Using a cane pole, black line, red & white float and worms I gathered that morning, I could catch 4-5, prepare, cook and eat them during our lunch break…
Too pretty? No way. So small? Yes.
ReplyDelete^That.
DeleteBig tail, but not enough meat. Put it back this time and catch another 2-3” longer and make a meal out of just one. -Brewer96

Small enough that you'll need an entire trout village to make a meal.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you take a picture, and let that one go for next year....
ReplyDeleteYes. Big tail like that? Wild trout.
DeleteSo this catch and release nonsense does not even work at the border. When I lived in Newfoundland, it was always kill and cook, brother.
ReplyDeleteThats why you have no cod left!
DeleteAnon spotted it: native trout. Tail and coloration. Rare these days. Also, not too small. The creek/pan size are the very best eating.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not. 😋
