And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Charm on steroids. Terrific. Unfortunately these days building codes and engineers would balk at constructing anything such as this…because the all-encompassing “safety” trumps aesthetic while costing 10x as much.
Pointed to the neighbors 132 yo barn during an “inspection” and said: ”The ridge is still dead straight and it hasn’t fallen down let alone sagged…built without a permit for next to nothing by Norwegian settlers. Still standing straight and solid.” He just looked at me.
I would hazard a guess the small market town is around Dartmoor, Devon U.K. The mid 60’s Austin Morris Traveller Estate car in the pic is in good condition, and there are plenty about still. Google search 'Devon and Cornwall' and then view images. There are so many ancient villages and towns to see.

Many of those houses will have the year they were built, and in a few cases, the dates will be prior to 1776. Kind of frames the context.
