And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Wizard Island, Carter Lake, I do believe. My mom posed for a photo that was used in an Oregon travel brochure just before WWII, taken from the rim above the island when she was still a teenager. She was a wonderful woman and mother, and it was really neat to see that she was also a fabulous babe when she was still a young lady before she met my merchant seaman father. Boy, what a couple of wonderful people they were.
