And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It's better in some ways than a propane lantern. The advantage is that the fuel is everywhere. Quicker to refuel than a battery powered light. Will warm your tent. Plus just Old-School-Cool.
I think the ability to use regular gasoline (dual fuel) in a Colman lantern/stove was a BIG step! Mine might still be around somewhere after it was relaced by the propane lantern (I know there that is).
Just had to put new mantels on our walkway lights, had a giant thunder clap & it knocked all of them out . Hadn't had to replace them in 5yrs. Birdchaser
I've been using a single mantel gas lantern for over 40 years. It just works. Oddly, when I looked at the actual light from a single vs double mantel lantern, they were rated almost the same. Seemed wasteful to buy and use the two mantel.
Pretty good price for a classic.
ReplyDeletejust as bulky and outdated as the stove is, no sale.
