Who can do this (not me). I'm thinking LL and Ghost might be able to.

  3. Long, long ago I did crazy shit on 2 wheelers, yes, mile long wheel stands.
    Plenty of crashes.
Now, unbelievably, I haven't been on 2 wheels since about 1988.

  5. Couldn't afford to fix it if I tried it. That probably kept me from a lot of pain.

  6. When I bought my BSA back in '67, Ii always thought it was possible to do a u-turn on the back wheel but I was never brave enough to try it. Once while driving my Corvette, had a guy, on a motorcycle, pull up along side of me while doing about 80mph. He wanted to race. I waved him off and he proceeded to pull the front wheel up and went completely out of sight on his rear wheel. Crazy!

  7. Back in '98 at the races at Sears Point Raceway, there was a guy on a full body racebike in the hot pit that was lofting the rear wheel while approaching the traffic cone at each end. He would roll around the cone on the front wheel, set the rear down and wheelie to the other end and repeat the stoppie while turning. He spent a lot of time on one wheel there!

I was in the hot pit to practice launching my Ducati with both the full fairing lowers off and the flywheel removed (curtesy of an ignition system mounted externally. The combo made the front wheel very easy to loft when dropping the clutch, and would lift it when shifting 2nd gear, even with a stock 900 SSSP. Fun day, even if I did get forced off the track in the first corner by heavy traffic. My mistake. Don't take a racing line at the first corner when the bikes aren't up to a race pace! OOPS!
