And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
‘71 Plymouth ‘Cuda. The ‘70 and ‘71 ‘Cudas were the last of the muscle car era and the best looking. One of my best friends had a ‘70 with the 440 SixPak. He actually raced it. On the street it got 7 MPG. Took almost a whole tank of fuel just to get to the strip.
7mpg isn't that bad, at least it produced some horsepower. I had a 76 Lincoln with a 460 and a 4bbl, it got 8 or 9mpg and made maybe 200hp. Lots of torque though.
Our fire crew busses in the early '70s were late '60s Dodge D-600s with industrial Chrysler 383 c.i.d. engines. They sounded as good as they ran. The chassis had twin 50 gallon tanks, and they needed every drop of them. Awesome engines, and super dependable. In two years, I don't recall any of our four busses having a single problem. But then, CDF's preventative maintenance program was pretty off the charts rigorous.
Love the Shaker hood. Anybody know if late model Challengers have Shaker option?
