And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? My dad used to have an old style glove like this. Wish I still had it.
Back in the middle 50's, my father gave me his old baseball glove. It looked just like this one. I was a little embarrassed since most of my softball teammates had modern gloves. Eventually I got a nice (new) glove.
Dad was too busy making sure we all ate to play baseball or any other game for that matter, but he made sure I had one like that, only right handed, and I wish I still had it.
Lost my Dads old gloves. 3 gloves all from the 30's I learned to catch and my children learned to catch with them.
ReplyDeleteJust like me, your dad was a lefty.

ReplyDeleteI have one hanging on the wall behind me that my Dad bought for me 70, or so, years ago. ---ken
ReplyDeleteI wish that I had been smart enough to have held onto the one that my dad gave me back then.
DeleteDad didn't give me a mitt, but I did get his leather football helmet he wore when he played back in the 1930s.
