And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like a slightly modified 748-916 frame, with a 900 or 750SS engine mounted in it, with a modified 748-916 swing-arm adapted to fit this aircooled 2 valve engine. Lot of added extra weight there, with the dry clutch and swing-arm about 30-40lbs than if they stuck with the SS frame and swing-arm, the dry clutch, over a wet clutch, adds 15lbs of rotating mass. But if its a say track day bike its a ton of fun, which it looks like its somebodies fun project. Nice looking bike.
Ok, my 900 SS, has the dry clutch, half fairing, 12-1's, lectrons, slip-ons and few fiddly bits. It's red, loud and 390 pounds. Bought it new, looking at it now in my man cave.

ReplyDelete30 yrs ago I definitely would have run the wheels off of it , now not so much now. Barely survived the last time on a motorcycle.
ReplyDeleteWhy would a dry clutch add that much weight?
ReplyDeleteMy first real bike: 350 Scrambler. Sounded and rode like a jackhammer.
