And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
#1- If I was a very rich man, I would restore an old straddle buggy (lumber carrier) and drive it around the yard occasionally. The ones I worked around in the '70s had Ford industrial gas V-8s and boy, did they sound great. That, and those long chains rattling. What a hoot.
I'll understand if you don't have any idea what I'm talking about. I'll bet it was something you'd have enjoyed experiencing.
When I was about 10 the local Lumber yards in Socal still used them in the 50s. I even remember them driving down the street. What have we done to the world?
#3: Montesa/Bultaco/Ossa? It certainly reminds me of the 250 Ossa I had years ago. Looking closer, I'd guess it's bigger - 360, maybe?
ReplyDeleteFirst looked like a CanAm 250 TNT, but after you said Bultaco think your correct. Has the notched edges on the cooling fins and finned cases.
DeleteAin't gonna go anywhere this weekend, got a new to me toy. An Ooni pizza oven. Beer , music & burned pizza is on the menu.

DeleteSince the 50s? A lot more lawyers...
DeleteWay back, over time, I owned three VW Squarebacks. I put curtains on the back windows and slept for cheap wherever I'd end up that day.
ReplyDeleteNice collection and some great VW picts! I like the Baja bus with the bottle opener!
ReplyDeleteSue’s Motel. Mina Nevada. Highway 95.
ReplyDeleteA plethora of V-dubs. Most excellent.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures prove that heaven is right here on earth.
ReplyDeleteThe dog.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one with the dog.
ReplyDeleteLand Rover with tent on top seems impractical
ReplyDeleteWould like to see it up close
The ones I have seen appeared to work well.
DeleteSometimes this goes wrong when it comes to weather, tides & timing. Namib Desert, affectionately known as Nambia by your previous great leader.

You "forgot" the one with the dog...??
ReplyDeleteTriumph looks to be a 650 on a Rickman Metisse frame.
ReplyDelete#9, topmost bend. Anyone else wondering who is using that trail off to the right of the bend?
ReplyDeleteWho's the cutie in #7? She has a great look!
ReplyDeleteI'm a day late in commenting but I do have to say that you outdid yourself on this one.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!
