And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Crash. In the late 80s and early 90s lived a mile from New Castle County Airport, DE, where for about 5 years they tested one of these. As a teenager I would go down there and watch it hover and take off. Pretty cool and loud as hell. This airport was also the home of Air Transport Command who flew supplies over the Himalayas during WW2.
Never done this for myself, but given that they’re looking up, I would guess they were going up. If they were heading down I would expect them to be looking where they’re going.
Extraction, insertion would be via fast rope

ReplyDeleteI saw something like that once in a Bathhouse....
ReplyDeleteYeah, one guy's definitely doing insertion.
DeleteThey want out of that deathtrap.

ReplyDeleteWhy does chair force fly Ospreys? Rescue, as in jolly green?

ReplyDeleteExtraction as they are looking up. Insertion and they would be looking down. Been there done that.
ReplyDeleteDepends on how well both the hoist cable and the transmission hold up, du'n'it?
