  1. I'm sure it was "state of the art" in its day, but what an ugly aircraft! What a big lumbering-looking beast, she was!

    1. think of the amount of drag on that thing what with all the spars and rigging and such!

    3. It was designed in 1915 when all airplanes suffered from parasite drag, and lots of it. The first airplane powered by Rolls-Royce Eagle engines. The US Army bought eight after the war.
