And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

when I was a kid you could sometimes catch his "Puppetoons" after the morning farm report (+/-)5 AM, elaborate productions from the '40s made by his wife (lifetime) and himself. quite a story.
To get away from all the annoying people on Earth? To bounce around like on a trampoline? Once a decent-sized habitat is built, strap on some wings and fly!
I saw this at the Dixie Theater in Chattanooga, where all those 50's sci-fi films played back in the day. I haven't wanted to see it again since the ending is so sad.
I never understood as a kid why they each had a different color suit then it dawned on me as an adult that it was so you could tell the characters apart when they were out of the ship.
