And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Bell X1B I think and it was actually rocket powered. Seem to recall them dropping it from a B52 then lighting off. Might have been Yeager that flew it. I was a kid back then but remember the TV videos.
Yes it was rocket powered and Yeager (GOAT) flew it and was the first to break the sound barrier, but other men whose balls clanked when they walked also flew it.

ReplyDeleteThe name on the nose is Glamorous Glennis, so if this one isn’t General Yeager’s ride, then they made it look like it.
