And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember the National Lampoon showing an "ad" which featured a VW Beetle in water up to its running board with the caption "If Ted Kennedy drove a Volkswagen, he'd be President today." In true NatLamp fashion, when they were threatened with a lawsuit, they apologized... to VW.
Way back in time I worked as a Park Ranger at State Park that consisted of about 5 lakes. One evening while on my usual patrol I noticed a set of taillights way out in one of the more shallow ones.... sure enough an El Camino had ended up way out there... driver's side door was wide open and aftet a bit of a rapid search the offending driver was apprehended..... drunk as a skunk as one might imagine... Yep, once again ETOH provides evidence that cars are not submarines.
He left the lights on. That battery will be dead in the morning.
