  1. Cassowary?

The size of that foot compared to the guy's hands is a giveaway.

    1. My thoughts exactly, and yes, size matters. My hens in the chicken run are not intimidating to me, but when a snake, lizard, or mouse gets in there, they just eviscerate them in short order. Accordingly, I’ve posted a velociraptor warning sign on the door as a warning.

    2. Emu might also be a possibility (size wise), but the claws are too long. The extended nail on the third toe is confirmative.

  2. Did you know that cassowaries are the only large flightless bird adapted for life in the rainforest? The southern cassowary is the largest of the 3 species of cassowary and their feet have three toes with a stout claw, while the middle toe has a long dagger-like claw.
