And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had one of those & didn't do garlic often enough to remember I had it, I defaulted to the old smack it with the flat of the blade and pull the skin off...
I do all of the cooking in our home, and I use garlic almost every day. I am with ROB; I prefer the flat side of a chef's knife. I hit my hand against the knife blade that has the garlic clove under it. Peel the skin and chop it for use.
I do all the cooking here too and I've never bought a garlic in my life. But I do use a fair amount of minced dehydrated garlic. It's just so much easier.
There was a little pizza joint in Baden Baden Germany called Ramone's. He put so much fresh garlic on your pizza it was coming out of your pores for 2 days. Yum.
My wife loves those things. I still do it the old fashioned way.....

It may be "easier," but it certainly is not tastier. Fresh garlic is a dream come true. Try it sometime. You may not regret it.

Don't think I ever seen anyone mention Baden Baden before. My ancestral birthplace.
DeleteThey don't show how you end up with the paper skin all over the counter
ReplyDeleteHad one of these for 20+ years. Nothing new under the sun
