And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
"Peak HP" = they dead short the motor and see how much current is drawn, just before it melts. This is a 1000 watt (that is, roughly 8 amp, or 1 HP) motor according to their spec. Yes, a shop vac is useful. This one is no worse -and no better- than others. These BS advertising games are infuriating, though.
This one has the smaller diameter (1-7/8") hose, clogs easily. Get the Sop Vac brand with the bigger hose (2-1/2"). You'll be glad you did. Getting the skinny one unclogged can be a real bitch.
Say what? Never had a problem using one, spouse & children either. Plus it's great when you need to suck the water from a damp carpet... not quick but it will do the job.
If you say so ! Mine is this model, about 25 years old, and it still pulls a very good suck. In addition to shop duty, We've had a couple of water disasters and nothing goes to work more quickly or effectively when you have one. Faster than rigging up a pump.
We buy those by the dozen at the boat yard. Between the fiberglass shop & cleaning nasty bilge's they don't last long. The monkeys working around here could destroy anything.
Last Craftsman I bought was when they began closing stores around D/FW. Went to 5 stores, bought eight 82544 wire strippers, when the last one of them is done I will retire. Been a Sears man since my father worked part time in the downtown San Antonio store the last three years before he retired from the AF in '73. 90+% of my tools are old school lifetime* warranty stuff. Sears missed the internet and it saddens me. When first married our W/D and fridge were Kenmore. Got my Weber grill, vacuums, TVs, weed eaters, lawn mower just about everything from them.Shopped Sears more than any other store until they closed.
The one rating that is not used for consumer vacuums is the noise output. The makers design them to be noisy, since the average human equates noise with power. Tired of having to use earpro when running one of the typical vacuums.

ReplyDeleteI've had a horizontal one for 12 years. Use it with my Flobee and to pick up acorns in the yard.
ReplyDelete^^^Oh yeah got it at KMART, it's that old.
Deleteeven a bli- oh hell.
DeleteA wet/dry vac is way useful when you need to clean up a water leak, even a small one will do the job (you just have to dump the water more often).
ReplyDeleteshop vacs are not particularly robust, nor designed as operator friendly.
