And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
You should see the CalTrans Kingvale traffic cam right now. What a cluster you-know-what. A tow truck has been hooked up to a jackknifed semi for an hour now but he's got nowhere to go because of parked traffic stuck on the road ahead of him. They all squeezed around him while he was hooking up and now they're blocking his path.
And people wonder why I-80 gets closed like it does.
The Central Sierra Snow Lab at Soda Springs recorded its snowiest single day of the season yesterday at 26.4" of snow.
The numbers aren't in yet, but it will be interesting to see how this storm will change the snowpack percentages. Update to follow when the data comes in.
I’m headed there with my wife and daughter for the first time in mid May. Coming from North Carolina. I guess I need to bring clothing for all kinds of weather.😄

Sierra weather never ceases to amaze.
That shows only the valley. Good thing, I guess, that most people think the park is just the valley.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching this current sto crawl down the coast and inland. Surprising rapidity.
BTW it snows in Yosemite every month of the year.
Tioga Pass, just east of the park boundary, is the highest pass over the Sierra at just under 10,000 feet.
DeleteVentusky shows the deepest snowpacks in the Spring are in the Tioga and Sonora Pass areas.
Yes, the high county of Yosemite Park does indeed get pounded with snow.
I live in Tuolumne County at 3000ft, and it has been snowing hard this afternoon
