And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Years ago a neighbor had one of these. I wonder where it is now?
Most likely it became a can of soup many years ago. Roughly 3 Million of this body stile were made. My guess is that ~90% were crashed, left in a field, handed to kids or scrapped when they were just old, undesirable trucks.
I had a '71 Custom with a 400 small block with cherry bomb pipes out the back. Sounded like gunfire when I took my foot off the gas. Drove it on the freeways in Phoenix and later in San Diego for a number of years. After the transmission went out the second time, I sold it for 600 bucks in 1990. Wish I hadn't. But I had a CJ-5 and an Iroq-Z 28 and didn't need three vehicles.
Maybe that's it ?
ReplyDeleteIf he had a forest that might very well be gone.
ReplyDeleteI drove my 72 until the late 90's. Hit a deer and off to the junkyard it went. I'm still pissed.
ReplyDeleteOne of what?
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteOne forest, truck, canoe, paddle, backpack, jacket, coffee mug, pinecone.
The options are endless.
I live out on the Eastern Colorado prairie. There are a number of "elderly" pickups in and around other folks' properties.
