And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I try to watch every episode of those series on ETV/PBS. Beats the heck out of the slock on network TV. Another great series is "All the Creatures, Great and Small". Sudsy in NC
I read all of the James Herriot books as a kid. The current series on Masterpiece Theater is true to the spirit of the books, I think. And the Yorkshire countryside is practically another character in the story.
So you're crammed in with a bunch of people and the only thing you can do is stand on a bridge and watch the water flow by. Yes it looks pretty from a distance.
