Wi-if connected. It maps out the interior of your dwelling; very convenient for when the feds want to know the layout of your home.

  2. I had a Roomba. The self emptying thing clogs with pet hair. Probably OK if there are no critters in the house.

  3. We have a Roborock and a black lab. Recommended. Run it through the house every morning (no carpets but a couple rugs). Not auto emptying, but it works great as long as I remember to empty it a couple times a week. This one looks like an upgraded version of mine. Even the phone app screen is familiar. Avoid Roomba, had one and it almost ruined me on the whole robovac idea.

  4. I have an older Roomba and I love that darn thing. It's amazing how much it picks up. This is an old 'you-empty-it' model, but to be honest I prefer that. You need a vac with a hose if you own a Roomba, because it won't be long before you need to turn it upside down on the counter, strip it down, pull the rotors out, and clean out all the nooks and crannies. It's just the price of having something compact and autonomous. But using that second vac's hose to suck everything out of the Roomba's crevices makes it quick. I do it maybe every 3 months, and I use ours about 3 times a week, 2 cats, 2 dogs. It's well worth it, to set it and forget it. But get the iRobot Roomba.

  5. Do remember that room as are IOT connected. They “learn” how to clean your home by collecting photos and creating floor plans of your home which sent to the cloud someplace. Who knows where the data is stored, secured and used for what other purposes

    1. Hmm. Do you wear an apron while you vacuum by hand? I'm usually outside working on something with my hands while vacuuming.

  7. And for a bonus, detailed digital mapping of your residence to the inch, piped out on the 'net to God Alone Knows Who, and updated every time it vacuums.

Now ask how the nice man in the black jumpsuit will have a detailed layout sketch when they kick the door in.

  8. The government goes to the county for your building layout, not your Roomba. The county has the blueprints on file.

  9. Aggie, the vacuum data will be much more current than whatever is on file at the county. Lots of house mods never make it to the files. In addition, it can give them furniture layout, floor cover, pets, and other impediments to movement indoors. Home invasion types want that sort of info over the dusty files at county. Plus, no advance notice that someone is interested in you and your home.
