Yes Dan I had some very pleasant times visiting Jolly Old England, Scotland and Wales but that was 30 and 40 years ago. Now I hear being in London is like visiting Mecca. And if you're an indigenous Brit and complain you go to gaol.
There’s a woman working at a local Walmart whose name is Brittania. When I first met her and looked at her name tag, I said something to the effect of “I expect that you know a song called ‘Rule Brittania’”. She said that she was and it was a favorite since high school. I should ask her why she isn’t yet the boss there. 😉
Back in the mid-1960's while attending New Mexico Military Institute, I was a member of the school's marching band as well as the drum and bugle corps. The base drum was always one of my most favorite instruments to listen to while marching.
E R on the drum for Elisabeta Regina (or something like that) meaning Queen Elizabeth. Pic is a few years old. Nowadays it would be Carlos Regnus (or similar) in honor of Charles the Idiot (sometimes styled as Charles III). ~ Doctor Weasel
Regina is correct, but the Queen was always Elizabeth, never Elisabeta. Charles' cypher is CRIII for Charles Rex the 3rd. If there's a D. G. preceding the monarchs initials it means Dei Gratia (by God's Grace).
Strangely, I haven't seen any currency with Charles face on it yet.
