And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
cheapest I remember was 21.9 I think it was. had to fill up the tractor for my uncle ken back in KY. gas station was right down the road a 1/4 mile. like under 2 bucks to fill it ip back then. my first driving lesson !!
Late 71-72, the Gulf station at Hwy 101 & Petaluma Hill Rd in Sonoma county Calif had Good Gulf for 24.9 cents per gallon, spend $3 and get a steak knife. My car only had a 10 gallon tank .
That was four Democrat administrations ago. Ancient history.
ReplyDeleteAdjusted for inflation, Donald J. Trump had the cost of gasoline that low in several states. And then along came the party that stole an election.
ReplyDeleteCorrect.
DeleteAnd all of that inflation was caused by government over spending.
DeleteYou mean like the inflation caused since January 2021 by the party that stole an election? Kind of like that?
DeleteExactly like that.

ReplyDeleteI paid the exact same amount in Freeport, CA in '73. I missed out on the steak knife, though.
DeleteGulftane was the cheapest. My Studebaker ran on that in the late 50's, early 60's. I seem to remember .25 per gallon but I'm pretty old.
ReplyDelete1962 VW bug with 10 gal tank went 300 miles on $2.50 in 1968.
ReplyDeleteSame here with my VW bug. Got 300 miles to a tank. Nice car except when the summer came. Then it was an oven that cooked you.

I learned to drive in SoCal in 1973 where I was born in the late 50s. Gas at the time was 22 cents per gal for premium as my Camaro.
