A story on a local nugget shooter forum told of using a metal detector to find an old can filled with nuggets, buried in the middle of a road to an old mining camp.
Pretty good spot to hide it, since who would think to look in the road? Must have hidden it too well, since they never came back to get it.
The story teller said it had 7.85 ounces, Troy. Looks like it's all placer.
