Dig those nuggets out with this

  1. I had to look it up ... but in July of 1983, the Leatherman combo tool showed up on the American market. I guess that within that year, I purchased my first one of several that I have owned over the years. I will readily admit that I am not the most skilled handyman that there is ... but that first Leatherman tool that I owned is still in my possession. I may have used it a dozen times over the past 40 years.

  2. I carry a Leatherman (since the late 80s) & have a Gerber (mine has flat nose plyers) too but I carry the Leatherman (needle nose plyers).
I generally use it once or twice a week, I've already used it this morning.
Worth the room in my pocket & this one has a good price!

  4. My claim to blogosphere fame is an extended comment that the late Gerard Van Der Leun honored me with by turning my comment into a post at his American Digest. The story of the first time that I saw a Leatherman is here....

  5. I tried using a Gerber multi-tool once.
Dulled the Chinesium blade after stripping the insulation on three 250MCM wires.

    I'll stick with a Leatherman.
