And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had to look it up ... but in July of 1983, the Leatherman combo tool showed up on the American market. I guess that within that year, I purchased my first one of several that I have owned over the years. I will readily admit that I am not the most skilled handyman that there is ... but that first Leatherman tool that I owned is still in my possession. I may have used it a dozen times over the past 40 years.
I carry a Leatherman (since the late 80s) & have a Gerber (mine has flat nose plyers) too but I carry the Leatherman (needle nose plyers). I generally use it once or twice a week, I've already used it this morning. Worth the room in my pocket & this one has a good price!
My claim to blogosphere fame is an extended comment that the late Gerard Van Der Leun honored me with by turning my comment into a post at his American Digest. The story of the first time that I saw a Leatherman is here.... https://americandigest.org/jump-start-by-azlibertarian/

DeleteI tried using a Gerber multi-tool once.
ReplyDeleteDulled the Chinesium blade after stripping the insulation on three 250MCM wires.
