That Wingspan

  1. Something strange about that foreground perspective. I suspect AI gremlins afoot.

  2. It strongly resembles the Russian Be-6 amphibian, but there are some notable differences, like the engine nacelles are smaller and there are no pontoons on the outboard wings. And it’s in US Navy colors.

It also resembles a cross between the Consolidated aircrafts Coronado and Corregidor. It has tail of the Coronado and the two-engine design of the Corrigidor. But neither of those had a bent wing like this one does, and I can’t find any consolidated aircraft model in this configuration.

So I’m also wondering if this isn’t just an AI mash-up.

  3. Looks like a Martin PBM Mariner with the wing floats removed for dry land use only. The PBY Catalina also had a big wingspan, it's very useful if you're going out looking for submarines on a 12 hour patrol.

  5. Martin PBM-1 Mariner. It had retractable floats.
