And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It strongly resembles the Russian Be-6 amphibian, but there are some notable differences, like the engine nacelles are smaller and there are no pontoons on the outboard wings. And it’s in US Navy colors.
It also resembles a cross between the Consolidated aircrafts Coronado and Corregidor. It has tail of the Coronado and the two-engine design of the Corrigidor. But neither of those had a bent wing like this one does, and I can’t find any consolidated aircraft model in this configuration.
So I’m also wondering if this isn’t just an AI mash-up.
Looks like a Martin PBM Mariner with the wing floats removed for dry land use only. The PBY Catalina also had a big wingspan, it's very useful if you're going out looking for submarines on a 12 hour patrol. Al_in_Ottawa
Something strange about that foreground perspective. I suspect AI gremlins afoot.

Needs 2 more engines.
ReplyDeletePBM5, sans wing floats
ReplyDeleteMartin PBM-1 Mariner. It had retractable floats.
