  2. We saw canvas water bags in an antique shop yesterday, I had to explain to my daughter what they were.
    I remember when I was kid my parents had one hanging off the car when we went camping.

    1. In the early 60's, most cars I saw in AZ had one, usually hanging in front of the radiator/grill. I think that location was chosen because it was easy to hang it from the radiator support. Might have helped cool the radiator from the moisture laden air flowing over it, but I'm not clear on that.

    have you ever noticed that in movies made in Africa, Australia, or Asia, every 4WD vehicle is stock as a rock?

  5. My first time out west was in 1963. Remembered seeing lots of those bags and lots of white daylit bulbs in the middle of the radiator.
