  1. L & C is to me the most incredible tale found in American history. For those who only know the surface of the story you should take the time to read Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose. I’ll be reading the full journals again this winter for the third time, I pick up new little bits of the story each time I read them. Perhaps our benefactor here would be kind enough to post an Amazon link to the Ambrose book?

    1. I read it. Amazing story. They saw things that when they described them, like the migration of vast herds of animals & birds, gave me goose bumps.

Lewis, who seemed to be the perfect man for this effort, couldn't handle the comedown after returning & killed himself.

  2. I visited Monticello about 10 years ago. Glad I did. If you visit now they've made the whole tour into a scolding shaming display of Jefferson. Monticello gone woke. https://nypost.com/2022/07/09/monticello-draws-criticism-after-trashing-thomas-jefferson/

  3. I hunted along the Missouri Breaks for years, after a grassfire one could see the stones of teepee rings where the tents once stood.

  4. Started in Harpers Ferry, WV, wound up in a different universe in OR. I can walk to the start from my place in MD in about an hour.
