  6. I have a cousin that was assigned to the Constitution in the mid 90's. He spent 2 years learning how to sail a reproduction Spanish Galion and Coast Guard cutter while they finished up the re-fit and planking. They spent a couple months shaking the Constitution down and practicing cannon drills. After that duty he spent the minimal time in grade and service to make the next rank until he was an E-9 where he was an Admiral's aid. He did 25 years in the Navy and retired 11 or 12 years ago. He is a state senator now and has no further political aspirations.
