  4. Had to look up prices of outboards. A 400hp Mercury runs 34K to 40K per each.

    1. That's sad. How can the average working man afford that? We had a 17ft cabin cruiser with a 90hp Johnson back in the 60s when boating was for everybody.

  5. That's pretty much useless. Get rid of 4 engines & the range & speed would improve 100%. Sometimes more is not better. And White Mercurys? Sacrilege.

    1. It is the nautical version of the brodozer truck. Worse in every possible way and meant to compensate for shortcomings.

    If you are more into Sailing than boating, check Sailing Doodles @insta and u-tuby.
    He posted a time on a motor that he was getting 1.4-1.5 miles/gallon.
    Clearly he needs the subscribers to support the fuel habit.
    Also - all times on a sailing boat are clothing optional. (with in the U-tuby limits)
