  2. Bob Uecker always said that the best way to catch a knuckleball "is to wait until it stops rolling, then pick it up.''

  3. A family friend was in the minors, pitcher, at gatherings he would show us all the pitches, we would take turns trying to catch his balls, his knuckle ball was exactly like the above giff, right till the last foot it would go anywhere on you, really hard to catch, and he was being a bit gentle with how hard he threw, the only thing you could do was protect your own balls cause half the time the knuckle ball got by our mitts.
Really something else, lit of those pitches are close to impossible to hit, you had to get ready and almost start swinging before the ball left his hand if you was to connect, the slider pitch is just effin crazy, one second its right there coming next it disappears. But of all the pitches it was his fastest fast ball, make you look stupid, the whistle it made going by you was really cool though.

  5. This is how Knucksie won 318 games with 3342 Ks and an ERA of 3.35. Granted, not every pitch was a knuckler, but batters never knew if it was a change up, knuckler, or some off-speed breaking ball. Strategery.

  6. The catcher is in bail out mode already when he catches it with his eyes closed.

  7. I was at a game and saw Phil Necro when he struck out Dave Winfield and at strike 3 Dave set his bat down at home plate and just laughed histerically...good times.
