  6. Read they had a superb bombing record, high rate of airworthiness. Made a bunch of Revell models, actually of all that series jets, loved that chin intake.

  8. In summer school after my freshman year, one of the guys on my floor was ex-Navy, a reactor technician on the USS Enterprise. He said the A-7s had an autoland system, and they had to institute a policy that it was not to be used except when absolutely necessary. He said that it was so consistent that the A-7s' tailhooks were beating a dent into the flight deck. Sea story? I don't know.
