I've been lucky enough to log a bunch of skydives from these classic aircraft. I would love to know how many hours I've spent sitting on the floor, in the gutted interior, watching the rivets turn in the fuselage skin and airframe while this incredible workhorse clawed its way to altitude.
Look up Basler Turbo Conversions They take DC-3/C-47's, completely rebuild the airframe and install turboprop engines with a modern cockpit and instrumentation. Brand new airplane with zero hours - super reliable. https://www.baslerturbo.com/

Look up BUFFALO AIRWAYS and Joe McBryan
ReplyDeleteI used to fly in PBA DC-3s from Miami to Matathon back in the 1980s. Curtains on the square windows and all. It was a great airplane.
