And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had to do that to my high pressure side when it blew out on 6.7L PowerStroke. I used a good portion of 2" wide electrical tape to seal the tear and then reinforced it with 80 to 90 zip ties. I limped it 80 miles back to the house and ordered a new hose that night.
“Sorry, we have plenty of hose clamps, but we're all out of hoses.”
ReplyDelete“No problem.”
All them zipties cost more than a new hose, and took 10 times as long to install.
ReplyDeleteNow if there was some Rescue Tape under all the zip ties....
ReplyDeleteWho cares the boss pays for the zip ties. Right. What a waste of time and resources.

ReplyDeleteI've used visqueen triple folded and safety wire.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something you'd see on "JustRolledIn" youtube channel.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day I used muffler dope, a steel Schlitz can and a couple of hose clamps to quiet an exhaust leak and pass inspection.
ReplyDeleteAt least they had the decency to flush cut them!
ReplyDeleteIf it's stupid, but it works- it's not stupid.
ReplyDeleteI bet they did that to get back to base because that looks like a (real) Hummer radiator.
Yes it’s a lash up, but not the only one there. That section of blue hose looks to be non-factory approved as well.
ReplyDeleteRed Green would be proud of that repair job.
