    1. Look at the levels next to the hulls. Each level is 10-12' tall. Boats are far bigger than you think.

Look at the yellow manlift to the right of the center hull to get a perspective of how big those boats are.

  2. I've heard one of the most arduous jobs there is welder. Hot work done in some really confined spaces.

    1. Depends on the environment, underwater welders working on rigs print money. Know a guy from my country that is a master dive instructor and underwater welder, he moved to the US (TX) and he basically runs the show for some oil rig company. Stupid money.

  5. Astute synonym: shrewd. I get that, for a submarine. But “ass toot”? Really?

  6. Used to work at BIW building DDG's for the Navy. Welders were paid anywhere from $23 (starting) to $33 an hour from 2018-2023. Left because there were tons of middle management running around like chickens with their heads cut off, giving contradictory instructions and work orders.

  7. depends on what you do. the electricians and electronics guys probably make real good because of the security clearances involved and the EF BE EYE being up their butt. my dad worked at the nuclear test site in Nevada in the late 50"s and early 60"s. all of our mail from home, incoming and outgoing, was checked, and he just ran heavy equipment, i think. he never talked about his job.
