And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Preheating the engines on a B-25 before a flight, Ladd Field, Alaska, 1943
Say hello to Herman Nelson, I think the 3rd and 4th pics are of this aircraft. https://forums.g503.com/viewtopic.php?t=306657 I used a later version on Baffin Island in the '80s which had an engine that could installed while wearing arctic weight mitts. The engines were kept in a heated section of the hangar while the heater stayed outdoors. Al_in_Ottawa

ReplyDeleteI had a TDY at Eielson AFB in winter (January/February). -35F at night, if you don't have an engine block heater that motor isn't turning over.
