And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Baling hay in the summer was always my favorite part of my summer farm job. I personally enjoyed the physical work. I am 63 and put up about 1000 bales a year. The younger dudes offer for me to drive the tractor and baler but I decline. I still ride the hay rack and stack bales. Call it boomer pride.
Best part of the ad: the comment on safety week. The only way to make that tractor safe is to put a cage around it and never start it. Or, of course, make sure the operator is some 12 year old kid born in around 1920, with at least on lick of common sense. Gawd forfend you put a millenial on that thing. Death or disaster in microseconds.
I've got an early Cubbie; first week of production.
ReplyDeleteWorked as a 12 year old in the hot Texas sun on a Cub pulling a side-delivery rake. Worst part having to pick up and stack the bales when we were done
