And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Having consumed bear meat on a couple of occasions, I have to disagree. While it's not fillet mignon tender, I didn't find it tough either. London Broil type texture, slightly chewy.
A high point of my life. Son was ten and we drove circa 180-190 miles to the late lamented annual Imnaha Rattlesnake and Bear Feed at the Imnaha Store in Imnaha, Oregon. The Rattlesnake was deep fried and had a fish like taste but the Bear had been cooked in a covered pit for over sixteen hours. The flesh was moist, fatty, tender and delicious as well as perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. Still have a commemorative t-shirt that is too small for me over thirty five years later. My son occasionally talks about the experience, round trip of over 400 miles. Spend some time in Apple or Google maps and view Imnaha, Oregon and the isolation of the region, the rugged terrain part of Hell's Canyon.
The title should be "Bad Idea"

Looks more like the bear has a tooth pick than the man having enough energy and angle to get a poke, he needs a smoke pole.
