And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Right. And since the "Flying Wing" got in to drop it's payload while the Sabers that went in were burned out of the sky, I assumed that the Martians had radar not dissimilar to ours and the slightly 'stealthy' body gave it some protection.
no tail meant no leverage meant the elevators were iffy. you tell it to climb, it replies "maybe, when I feel like it" you want your aircraft to behave like a horse, it behaves like a mule.

ReplyDeleteAhead of its time idea, finally vindicated by the B-2 when computer-controlled fly-by-wire made the idea fully viable.
