And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Charlie Russell was a working cowboy turned artist, not an easterner artist like Frederic Remington. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Both of their works were great. There was just something a little more authentic about Charlie's work.
My two favorite Elmo spent many an hour at the cowboy Hall of Fame. One always presented them under nourished, which was probably closer to reality the other always portrayed them fat and happy.

ReplyDeleteLoose tobacco is the only way some people can afford to smoke cigarettes. Sometimes it's sold as pipe tobacco so it isn't taxed as much.

ReplyDeleteMy Grandpa was born in 1910. Started smoking when he was 10. Rolled his own his whole life. Lived to be 91 - said that’s why.
