Mrs. CW and I visited the oldest daughter. My son in law likes his bourbon, so we had a taste test (the dog did not participate).
Multiple votes for Knob Creek, but the son in law preferred the Willet (far right), and he knows his bourbon. Fun times.
love the knobcreek. Next test, try McKenna 10 year BIB. Another favorite
ReplyDeleteBeen a Knob Creek fan for years, way behind on my test tasting…
ReplyDeleteNice, Beffalo Trace for me, Blantons when I can get it
ReplyDeleteYou're missing the best of all, Woodinville Bourbon from Woodinville Whiskey Co., WA. Last I was in N. CA it was available at Raley's.
ReplyDeleteYou know your kids will lie to you. Better retaste them yourself just in case.
ReplyDeleteI was able to quit drinking alcohol in 2008. It has not touched my lips since then. With that said, participating in a Whiskey taste test sounds like a very good reason to jump off the wagon for an evening of fun.
ReplyDeleteWoodford Reserve Double Oaked is my Bourbon of choice.
ReplyDeleteJames
Makers Mark is excellent...although a little too sweet.
ReplyDeleteBeen looking for an excuse to try Knob Creek...
Sonoma ? well, Bourbon made in California...no
Willet, I'll look at it...
The Sonoma was quite different from the other three. Whether you like it or not is a matter, I suppose, of personal taste.
DeleteAll those choices are good.
ReplyDeleteYukon Jack :/
ReplyDeleteAfter the first 5 or 6 shots you'll never notice the difference.
DeleteAs a native Kentuckian that has tasted all the Kentucky bourbons you show plus many more but still haven't had any Pappy Van Winkle, I like Wild Turkey. Then again, taste is subjective and I'm not a huge drinker.
ReplyDeleteEh. There are better choices. But I'm not so foolish as to name them, as they are in limited supply. A hint: the best are not from that state north of Tennessee, can't be called "bourbon", and immediately convert fans of that northern hooch with a single taste.
