    1. My bad. The General was sunk with a couple of torpedoes from HMS Conqueror. The HMS Sheffield ate the Exocet.

    2. It's neither an Exocet nor a Harpoon, unless it's some strange variant. The leading and trailing edges of the forward fins aren't swept enough to be a Harpoon. Of course, that might be artistic license.

  4. I don't think that's is an Exocet or the Sheffield but an interesting note is that the warhead on the Exocet that actually hit the Sheffield didn't go off. It's motor lit the aluminium inner structure of the ship on fire and they scuttled it.

  7. At the Time, the French Co. that made the Exocets put a full-page Ad in the Aviation Week Magazine of the "Sheffield" Burning and Sinking. It was Captioned, "One Shot, One Kill" Needless to Say, the Royal Navy resented it.
