And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Nice! I have an uncle that has a 30 ci early 40's Indian. He bought it new in the shipping crate in the 60's as military surplus. He changed the blackout lights and painted it bright yellow. The controls were screwy. The throttle was the left handgrip, timing advance right hand grip, left foot was the clutch, and shifter was on the right side of the tank. If I tucked in tight I could get it up to 60 mph.
my maternal grand father and mother used to race a sidecar indian back in the early thirties for extra money. the also did 'steeplechase' with the sidecar off. he was a founding member of the reading mc club in pa. got a great panoramic picture of the club members standing in front of a store in reading before there was pavement. hard to picture my grandmother hanging inside the turn on the side car with no doubt a death grip on my grandfather....there were many great stories from their three daughters. after my grandfather passed, the bike was stored in the springhouse and corroded to a pile of rust that was unsalvageable. he used to get upset when someone called it a 'harley davidson'. he considered HD as 'road tractors'.
Throttle on left so rider could use his right hand to shoot. Shifter on right side so throttle could be controlled with left hand while shifting gears.
