And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

ReplyDeleteYou can see the same thing in a large jet if there are no bulkheads (walls) too close. Flex is good.
ReplyDeleteI've felt it and seen it sitting in the very rear of a 747 flying from US to China. Long flight, not much else to pay attention to.

Saw the same in a stretched 707 - LA to Iwakuni, Japan - 19 1/2 hours.

ReplyDeleteEarly Liberty ships could crack in half and sink very quickly. Large steel reinforcing plates were welded onto already-built ships to stiffen them.
