The real hideout

  1. I've a cousin who lives off grid outside Phoenix, and has for years. Starting during lockdown, he notes there are a ton of campers like this now out by him, as folks who went work-from-home or were not working and couldn't afford the rent, bought any sort of RV and went out in the sticks, using various forms of access for internet for work (now mostly Starlink, He has it too), or just squatting until working again, but many then stayed out there. Got so bad, to keep them off his property, he's borrowed a friend's unused camper and parked it out near the end of his drive, so they think someone is already squatting there.

    1. If he's got Internet, he's not off the grid.

    2. We bought a travel trailer back in 2019, before covid. Life long dream after years of tent camping. Then came covid and OMG didn't realize how many people live full time in all those out of the way parks. Almost everywhere we go, no matter how much of a vacation spot it is, has permanent people living there.
And yeah, if there ain't enough juice to run that A/C unit, that camper will roast you alive.
