  3. I've never had a CDL but the tow's hookup to the rig didn't look right. Too long a lead on the cable.

      You gotta have a solid hookup to pull shit around like that. Anything else is going to put Mr. Murphy's law in play.

  6. Incorrect tow unit. You do not tow a big rig with a single axle, especially on snow, and with just a cable. Both drivers were idiots.
    Insurance will probably not cover the tow company claim, due to incompetence.
    When towing, you can never trust the truck driver to be reliable or competent. Could be his first day in the truck. For that matter, you also can't expect the tow driver to know his business. Real crapshoot all around, unfortunately.
