Flimsy, but it probably flies. In good weather only.

  1. There are some grass strips on farms around here, couple of them are actually registered, most are not... We get ultra-lights, various gliders (those parachute wearing guys with the fan strapped on their back!), even some water-planes that will touch-and-go on the lake... I believe at a certain level of primativeness, there is little to no regulation, and you have to stay under a certain altitude... But yeah, every weekend I see some dude in a home-made jobby w/ a big ass lawnmower engine on it screaming like a raped-ape... but he gets to fly over the hills and the lakes and gets a gorgeous view I bet!

  3. With the cost of flying now astronomical you gotta cut costs everywhere you can. Still I bet this cost more than you or I could afford.

  4. Looks very similar to an Iraqi flag on the tail:

  7. Not VFR only. Fully equipped for IFR. Apparently they are a very stable platform.

    1. And with that layout, one fantastic observation craft.
As long as no one's shooting at it.

  8. For a second, I thought it was similar to the sea plane shown in a old Bond movie, but I was wrong. That was a RC3-Sea Bee air plane.
